Dear Mahsan

Many thanks for your e-mail and follow up on our request on COBAS 6800 system for COVID 19 testing. I would be more than happy to continue this dialogue with relevant partners. The three step testing approach outlined in the e-mail below is very well structured and perfectly aligns with our immediate needs and medium to long term testing strategies for other communicable diseases.

With kind regards

Dear Mr. Chkhetiani, dear Ms. Gabunia,

I hope my email finds you well.

I would like to kindly inform you that I have spoken today with Mr. Bernard Colombo, President of Roche Diagnostics International Europe, in regard to the acquisition request of 2 Cobas 6800 Systems.

I have underlined the importance of the request and I was assured that our request will be treated with priority.

Please note the person in charge in regard to the next steps is Ms. Burcak Celik, Head of Management Center Turkey, Central Asia and Caucasian Countries of Roche Diagnostics who has already today reached out to Ms. Gabunia via email. I have also informed Mr. Colombo, that Ms. Gabunia will be in charge of the communication and the process of the negotiations.

May I kindly send you attached the email which I have received subsequent to my conversation with Mr. Colombo from Roche.

With your permission, I will send an email to the person in charge from Roche, being Ms. Burcak Celik that Ms. Gabunia will take over the conversation from here on, as I think that from this state the direct communication would be more productive and faster.

I am happy that I was able to initiate the connection to Roche and I hope for a fruitful cooperation which will be a great benefit for the Georgian people.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me in case you have any questions or if there is need for further support from my side.

Respectfully,

Mahsan Tajik

Dear Ms. Tajik,

Based on your discussion with Bernard Colombo today we would like to emphasize once again that we are ready to work together with you and support your efforts in fighting with the COVID-19 pandemic. We would like to share with you our three-step approach in supporting COVID-19 and Blood Safety testing needs in Georgia with a long term perspective.

1. Step - High Quality qPCR Solution for COVID-19

We have already been providing high quality qPCR testing solutions through our distributor Mirco to NCDC. We will keep providing and make sure the testing is available in Georgia before and after we deliver cobas 6800.

2. Step - cobas 6800 instrument and tests for COVID-19

We will order 1 cobas 6800 instrument and hopefully deliver it in the upcoming few months, probably towards Q3 2020. We will make sure that both high quality qPCR tests and cobas 6800 tests are available in Georgia. This way we will be prioritizing and contributing in COVID-19 pandemic management.

3. Step - cobas 6800 instrument and tests for Blood Safety Solution

We would like to plan together the optimal Blood Safety Solution with the relevant stakeholders in the longer run. This might be feasible Q4-2020 or Q1-2021.

Please note that cobas 6800 instrument can also be utilized for other virology and microbiology testing (HCV, HBV, HIV, HPV, CT/NG, MTB) which we see as an opportunity to further contribute to public health in Georgia.

We kindly ask your comments and look forward to discussing these matters through a web meeting.
