Dear Tamar,
I had long correspondence with UNOPS and I didn’t attach it fully below – you are too busy to read.
It is my understanding they contacted also you, but with a general offer of assistance.
What I found important is that they could provide very concrete assistance for the rehabilitation of the Infectious Disease Hospital (last message below).
I understood it is becoming a priority for you.
Just to have it in mind, in case of need.
With best regards,
Silviu

Dear Silviu,
Thank you indeed.
Yes, I mentioned in general terms to Tamar that UNOPS would be ready to help with health infrastructure rehabilitation and clinic/hospital equipping, but not specifically going into detail on Infectious Disease Clinic. If they are interested, then we are certainly available to support such an engagement; it is very much our bread-and-butter and we have global expertise to bring to bear.
We could even offer to have one of our engineers do a first site visit and help do an initial assessment of the rehabilitation/equipping needs together with the MoH – we could do that pro-bono, if there is interest; when it comes to the actual rehabilitation work, there is a need for the Gov or a donor to fund it as UNOPS doesn’t have core funding to leverage.
Let me know if this would be a way forward, and if you/Sabine would reach out to Tamar/MoH and suggest it?
Many thanks and all the best,
Mikkel
