Dear Silviu
Many thanks for your reply. Sure we will still be discussing strategic purchasing and DRG related areas and we can also plan for next step in these 2 directions.
Therefore presence of two experts with these background is would be really helpful.
Best
Tamar

Dear Tamar,
Thank you for your guidance below.
I am very happy you suggest changing the focus on the mission towards PHC related activities.
At the same time, I have some concerns, as out of 4 experts coming, two could easily work more on PHC and I will also join them to the extent possible. I am also trying currently
to bring another expert on board who will work specifically on PHC.
However two other experts are very much specialized in strategic purchasing and DRGs and it might be difficult to completely change their focus.
Nevertheless I still think we can benefit from their presence and I would not cancel their visit.
First, there will be the second meeting on the first day with the responsible DM and the SSA representatives.
Besides they can benefit also from field visits and meeting with PHC stakeholders and there could be also some ad-hoc arrangements for meetings or visits during the mission
itself.
Most important is for them to agree on further volume of work in the coming months. And of course they will try contributing to the PHC component, to the extent of their knowledge
and experience.
I hope you agree with me on this and we’ll try to get maximum benefit from the mission.
Thank you and best regards,
Silviu

Dear Colleagues,
Greetings! I am really pleased to hear that the next mission will take place in a couple of weeks. Mariana has kindly shared with me the draft scope for this
mission. Since SSA is currently undergoing structural changes (including staffing) I would like to kindly ask to shift the focus of the mission to mainly primary care related activities. We would appreciate your feedback on organization of PHC services, financing,
access to outpatient drugs and financial incentives. I would suggest the following agenda:
Day 1: Meeting with DM T. Gabunia: Inception and planning
Meeting with DM (S) other ministerial team members including SSA representatives-status update, discussion on follow up actions, this will entail discussions
on SSA related development, DRG, strategic purchasing etc.
Day 2: Work with the Health Unit on anticipated revisions into the state programs on PHC organization
Site visits to PHC facilities
Day3: A consultative meeting with PHC stakeholders-a working meeting with a core team of stakeholders (10 to 15 participants)- outcomes: identify major challenges
to be addressed in immediate to medium term.
Day 4: Debriefing
Let me to introduce Ms. Lika Gamgebeli (a short term consultant recently engaged by the WHO Georgia office) who will work closely with the experts’ team and ensure
needed follow up.
Please kindly let me know if you find the above agenda acceptable. We can have more in depth discussion when you are here.
I look forward to meeting you in Tbilisi again.

Dear Mariana,

Pleas find attached the scope and purpose for the UHCP mission as an input to prepare the agenda. This time we have multiple topics and bigger team which means that we would need probably some meetings to take place in parallel.
Please have a look and let me know if you have any questions or you would like to discuss over call.
