Subject: FW: Defining a WHO process to validate elimination of viral hepatitis as a public threat, Geneva, Switzerland, 20-22 April 2020
Importance: High
Dear Tamar,
Please find below and attached information about the WHO meeting for the establishment of elimination criteria for the validation process of viral hepatitis elimination.
Please note that only a limited number of countries are invited to the event (9 altogether) – only those that have achieved major progress towards elimination and priority countries with high disease burden.
We would appreciate the nomination of an expert from Georgia to attend the meeting, preferably by 29 February.
The meeting will be quite technical, focusing on measuring indicators and hepatitis elimination validation process. So, ideally the nominated person should be quite high level (e.g. Director of Department), but also very familiar with communicable
disease control, including hepatitis.
Please send your nomination to Dr Judih Van Holten at:
vanholtenj@who.int or to me directly and I will forward it.
All related travel expenses will be covered by WHO.
Thank you and best regards,
Silviu
