Dear Tamar,

That’s what I got from Regional Office for the moment, but they will put a more structured text together, hopefully on Monday.

“We are aware that HQ is updating the guidance for workplace which as we understood will include considerations for ventilation systems and guidance on how to handle buildings that were closed for some period of time as a direct consequence of lockdowns. As you may know, water, sanitation and ventilation systems if abruptly interrupted will always need careful maintenance.

In the interim guidance for Operational considerations for COVID-19 management in the accommodation sector Interim guidance (30 April 2020 https://apps.who.int/iris/bitstream/handle/10665/331937/WHO-2019-nCoV-Hotels-2020.2-eng.pdf) there is a paragraph saying:

“ Although COVID-19 is not transmitted by air but from person to person through small droplets from the nose or mouth when an infected person coughs or exhales, attention should be given, as in normal circumstances, to monitoring the condition of filters and maintaining the proper replacement rate of indoor air. The proper functioning of ventilation, air exchange, and dehumidification equipment of covered pools should be checked.”

We will follow up with HQ regarding the guidance for workplace, and will try to put a text together for you.”

Best regards and have a nice weekend!

Silviu

Dear Tamar,

We don’t have any recommendations readily available, but we asked about this the key persons in Reginal Office and are waiting for their guidance.

I will share with you as soon as we get anything from them.

Best regards,

Silviu

Dear Silviu

I hope all is well with you. May I kindly seek your assistance on the following:

In collaboration with the Ministry of Education and NCDC we are preparing recommendations for conducting the National University Entry exams. There are usually 40000 applicants annually and we use 800 exam centers (usually school or university building). I thought you may have latest recommendations on use of air conditioners in large auditoriums and similar spaces. If so could you please share?

With kind regards

Tamar
