Dear Tamar,

I am contacting you again in relation with hospital readiness for COVID-19.

Our Regional office is suggesting to deploy to Georgia a consultant on hospital readiness.

The consultant is preliminary scheduled to come in a missions on 9-20 March 2020. The main purpose of that mission will be to assess readiness and preparedness level of the 4 designated hospitals for COVID-19 response. The consultant will need to visit each hospital for two-day assessments, in line with the hospital readiness checklist I’ve shared with you before.

According to our Regional Office, the ministry’s representative, Marina Baidauri attended the meeting on Implementation of the Core Components of Infection Prevention and Control Programmes at National and Area Levels in Copenhagen on 25-26 Feb, and she could also participate in site visits. Our staff might also join the mission, when needed.

The consultant could also provide short refresher trainings during the site visits on IPC topics, as well as address any other related issues.

Could you please let me know, by Tuesday 3 March at the latest, whether such a mission is welcomed by the ministry and WHO consultant and staff will be granted access to the 4 designated hospitals during the mission.

As soon as I get your confirmation we’ll start preparations for the mission and will update you regularly.

Thank you and best regards,

Silviu
