Welcome to our newest members; I am really glad that we have now representatives from all three main rehabilitation specialisations on board (I.e. PT, OT, speech and language). That makes our work do much stronger.

 

I will also attach the draft again for everybody’s’ reference as well as a short excel table where we started to summarize the main areas of competencies...I will introduce the document on Friday as well and we continue the discussion and distribution of tasks.

Keti can also quickly introduce the GAPTAR document and also if the other professional associations have some drafts please email and we can introduce it as well.

Many thanks for your feedback and apologies for my late reply! I thing the biggest challenge will be to find a common time to meet and discuss. I therefore propose 3 dates for next week and the one where the majority can make it we are going to have the first meeting and take it from there. Hope this makes sense. And please note that it doesn’t mean that other people will not be able to participate just because you cannot make it to the first meeting! We will have many more coming over the next months and we will need all your kind support and contribution!

Thanks for pushing forward working group process. As I am member of this working group and I got a chance to attend WCPT congress 2019, I specially participated in the discussions regarding professional standards there. 
I am also busy for the next week, we are going to the business trip to Zugdidi and this week also is quite busy for me as we have full day training at PFID. 

I am able just from 17:00 for Friday and I can be able to come to TSMU at 18:00 if it is not too late time for others to meet.

I am very glad to announce that finally the technical working groups in collaboration with the Ministry are about to kick start, tackling various topics that have been identified as an important work in order to take physical rehabilitation further in Georgia.

 

One topic is related to ‘Professional standards/regulations for existing rehabilitation professionals  and accreditation requirements for university programs’.

You all are important representatives of your respective professions, associations and faculties and I want to invite you to participate actively in the group to design professional standards and regulations, competencies and future plans to eventually establish a license system in Georgia for physical rehabilitation professionals.

 

I’d like to propose an initial meeting next week on Wednesday, at 2 pm at the TSMU. Please feel free to propose a different day and time so that we can get all together (please note that Monday I will be out all day in Kutaisi). A representative from the Ministry of Health and Education will join us soon, but it will be good to put some ground work in place already!

 

Really looking forward to get the group up and running! Please feel free to get back to me in case of further questions!
