Hoping this email finds you well. As my colleague Tata rightly mentioned, we are currently processing a Policy-based Loan to Georgia on behalf of the Asian Development Bank. As part of this Program we would like to coordinate with MOILHSA on how ADB can be of assistance in its efforts to reform existing social assistance programs to meet emerging needs.

 

We would be particularly interested to hear about MOILHSA’s efforts towards employment preservation (in addition to the current temporary employment subsidies put in place under the anti crisis plan), as well as the ongoing reforms to the TSA. We would sincerely appreciate if you could appoint a focal person for operational liaison going forward.

 

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank you on behalf of my colleagues in the Health sector for your efforts to materialize ADB’s Regional Technical Assistance project to support health services.

First of all thank you very much for coordinating with ADB on regional TA support for novel coronavirus.

 

Let me kindly inform you that ADB actively supports government through policy-based loans (budget support) and has already approved $100 million COVID19 Active Response and Expenditure Support Program under the leadership of Rogerio de Almeida Vieira De Sa, copied in this email.  

 

We are also working on another program called Social Protection Support for this year and we are now identifying the policy actions.

 

In this regard, could you please advise us, with whom should we directly coordinate in the Ministry on social affairs and labour.

Let me kindly inform you that ADB consultant team working on Public-private Partnerships are visiting Tbilisi next week.

 

As you may know, we helped government to develop PPP legal framework and now continuing to work closely with PPP agency for further actions, including PPP guidelines, IT soft and hard components and etc.

 

The scope of this mission is to meet with different government stakeholders and identify potential PPP opportunities in various sectors.

 

In this regard, may I kindly ask for a meeting on 16th or 17th May, at any time convenient for you.
