Dear Ms. Geleishvili,

As you know, there are 40 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Georgia as for March 19, 2020. In the framework of COVID-19 preparedness plan, we have mobilized large hospitals, which, in case of necessity, will provide service to the patients.

During the COVID-19 epidemic conditions safety and health of medical personnel are of great importance. For this purpose, one of the leading roles in the conduction of infection control measures is the proper use and management personal protective equipment (which includes the implementation of proven strategies for both personnel protection and resource saving) regulatory guidance of which, (specifically for staff involved in the management of patients infected with COVID-19) has not been developed at this stage.

We would like to kindly ask you, to provide technical assistance in developing the above mentioned document, and further provide training and monitoring of medical staff .

Please note that, we would like to inform you that it is advisable to carry out the trainings at 25-30 selected inpatient medical institutions.

Thank you in advance for cooperation,

Respectfully,

Ekaterine Adamia
