Dear Tamar,
Let me update you on the current state for the local STEs recruitment I got form the Contractor:
- Contracts are sent to Chkheidze and Zangurashvili so they can be active as soon as they sign them (they have agreed in the conditions, it is just a formality)
in the next couple of days, presumably.
- contact with Dr Nogaideli established. She has agreed to participate in the project and contractor is now discussing conditions and start date.
- As for the expert in intensive care medicine, we would much appreciate to receive your recommendation (name and contact details), once the information has
circulated and if someone shows interest.
Look forward for your reply regarding intensive care medicine STE,
Nika

Dear Nika
We will make sure to proceed as requested. Our only hurdle at the moment is getting hold of Dr. Nogaideli. As we already mentioned
in a previous communication, we have her email at the Ministry, where she no longer works. We tried contacting her via LinkedIn with no reply. If you happen to have her personal email address we would be grateful if you could share it.
With best regards
Laura

Dear Mirela
Many thanks for your prompt reply. Much appreciated! I would like to kindly ask Ms. KOCHISHVILI to facilitate communication
on staff selection with the recruiting team. On our side I can provide the email list of ICU experts to circulate the job announcement.
Dr. Darakhvelidze has an exceptional competencies, however given the level of engagement of Dr. Nogaideli with initial
work, we prefer to have her continuously working with the team.
As for the dates for the next mission- my only concern with the proposed dates is that April 19th is Orthodox
Easter, with nonworking days on April 17th and 20th Otherwise the proposed period is fine with us.
I would wait for your feedback and plan accordingly.
With kind regards
Tamar

Dear Dr. Gabunia, thank
you for the immediate involvement in the project issues.
We completely agree that recruitment of the local specialists is priority action.
Regarding that here are our remarks:
1.
expert for RIA – Vakhtang Chkheidze (Acceptable)
-we would appreciate Mr Vakhtang’s CV in Euro-pass format
2.
expert in intensive care medicine
- we agree with suggestion for circulation of the job announcement among the group of Georgian ICU specialists
3.
expert in nomotechnic - Achi Zangurashvili
- due to Mr Achi Zangurashvili’s prior engagements in EU acquis transposition we can consider him appropriate candidate for this job
4.
key senior expert /medical doctor - Marina Darakhvelidze/ Natia Nogaideli
-regarding this position we consider both candidates equally qualified. The asset on dr. Marina Darakhvelidze’s side is proficiency in English language. However, we leave the final decision on
you.
We would appreciate if you can confirm proposed dates for the 3rd
mission (14th April to 3rd May) and the working days number (20 days including the weekend days) at your earliest convenience what will allow us to adapt our work schedules timely.
With much appreciation
Mirela

Dear Mirela
Many thanks for your e-mail and follow up on this important task. Dr. Zaza Bokhua has recently left his post at the ministry and moved to Tbilisi State Medical University to pursue his academic carrier. I will be taking coordinating role on behalf of the ministry on SoHO related activities. I’ve familiarized myself with the inception report and would be happy to facilitate follow up activities. I also had a chance to review CVs of local consultants. As an immediate first action, I think it is important to finalize recruitment and bring them on board. Below you can find my feedback on the proposed candidates:
- expert for RIA – Vakhtang Chkheidze (Acceptable)
- expert in intensive care medicine - Sofio Beridze (I would suggest to circulate the job announcement among the group of Georgian ICU specialists and consider more candidates)
- expert in nomotechnic - Achi Zangurashvili (Acceptable, the ministry highly recommends this candidate based on his prior successful engagement with TB and tobacco control legislation)
- key senior expert /medical doctor - Marina Darakhvelidze – instead of Dr. Darakhvelidze we recommend to consider engagement of Ms. Natia Nogaideli as a key senior expert. Natia has left the ministry in January however, given her extensive engagement in this work in the past, It would be helpful to bring her back in a new role.
Once we have the team of local specialists selected we could move ahead with the technical work.
I look forward to hearing from you.
