Dear Tamar,

With this email I would like to inform you following the WHO Europe press release published  on 9 May 2019  on measles, citing alarming levels in the European Region and informing about their decision to scale up the response (found here:http://www.euro.who.int/en/media-centre/sections/press-releases/2019/over-100-000-people-sick-with-measles-in-14-months-with-measles-cases-at-an-alarming-level-in-the-european-region,-who-scales-up-response) and identification of  9 countries as priority for closer monitoring and cooperation : Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Israel, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, North Macedonia, Romania, Serbia and Ukraine, the DG SANTE is closely monitoring the situation, together with ECDC and WHO.  They   are also working closely with national authorities in support of strengthening contact tracing, communication and outbreak response and soon a short briefing on  measles and vaccine issues will be requested from the Georgian authorities.

With my best regards,

Nika
