Dear All, I hope this e-mail finds you in good health and spirit. I would like to apologize for not being as responsive as I would like to be on the standard project operations, but given the emergency mode I am sure you understand our workload. Regarding the OSH day celebration, we agree that given the circumstances, the best alternative is to develop and broadcast a video message. We will ensure participation of government officials. As for the printed materials for the OSH campaign, we can postpone the activity for October 2020, and distribute materials during the OSH Week. Thanks again for your support and cooperation. Kind Regards, |
Tamila Barkalaia

Dear Kinan and LCID colleagues,
thank you for your message and for alternative proposals. In many EU countries including Spain and Slovakia a similar approach has been taken, celebrating online, not postponning. I think it could work in Georgia as well. However, decision should be taken by the Ministry. As far as I understood, designer's work hasn't been continued, but we can check it immediately and proceed further. As regards the EU Ambassador, I can arrange it with my programme manager since the EUD works from home as well. Despite I am in Slovakia, I am available every day and my assitants can assist in all operational issues and communication.
Let me know.
Best regards,
Valeria

Predmet: ILO changes the theme for the World Day on Health and Safety
Dear LCID Colleagues,
Dear Valeria,
I’m writing to let you know that ILO has decided to change the theme for the World Day on Health and Safety, from Violence and Harassment in the Workplace to a subject related to OSH measures to pandemics. The decision has been made in response to the escalation of the global health emergency. As of now, ILO is finalizing new promotional materials and toolkits on the new theme that should be published soon.
On the OSH Day celebration:
Given the unpredictable situation, I suggest that we start thinking of a contingency plan if it’s decided that we cancel the event, which seems likely to happen considering the announcement of recent measures by the government. I suggest in this case, to produce a 2-3 minutes video, featuring speeches by senior government officials, EU Ambassador and ILO. The video will also feature the slogan and other promotional messages, and it can be broadcasted online and possibly on TV on 28 April.
Every speaker will be asked to prepare and record 30 seconds talk, supported by their PR person, from home or office and send it to us. Our video company will collect them and produce a single video.
If this is agreeable, let’s discuss it with relevant speakers from our respective organizations and find out if they are willing to do it.
Let me know what you think.
Best regards,
Kinan
