Dear all,
We hope you are all safe and healthy during this time of social distancing.
As you are all aware we were unable to hold the discussion on the policy options on the Gender Pay Gap in Georgia due to the COVID-19 spread mitigation measures. We have published the report on the
Analysis of the Gender Pay Gap and Gender Inequality in the Labor Market in Georgia and an issue brief on the
Gender Pay Gap. In the coming weeks we will also produce a policy brief on the Gender Pay Gap and we will share this with you all when it is released.
Thanks,
Mehjabeen

Subject: Invitation: Policy Options to Address the Gender Pay Gap in Georgia
Dear Partner,
I would like to invite you to an event entitled “Policy Options to Address the Gender Pay Gap in Georgia” taking place on 16th of March at the
Courtyard Marriot Hotel, Tbilisi, Georgia. The event will bring together representatives from the Parliament, Government and the Social Partners to discuss the policy recommendations based
on analyses conducted by UN Women. A detailed agenda for the event is attached to this invitation.
The event is organized in the framework of the project “Women’s Economic Empowerment in the South Caucasus” (WEESC) funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and Austrian Development Cooperation through the Austrian
Development Agency (ADA) and implemented by UN Women. The objective of the conference is the provide a platform to discuss the policy implications and policy options the Gender Pay Gap (GPG) in Georgia. The key target audience will be Government Ministries
and Agencies, the Parliament and the private sector.
Please confirm your participation by Thursday 12th March by sending an email to Mariana Unapkoshvili
mariana.unapkoshvili@unwomen.org.
Please, be informed that the organizers have taken relevant measures and requested the venue representatives to ensure basic security to prevent the spread of germs (sanitizers, etc.).
We would also like to share the following information with the participants of the event:
At present, influenza presents more risk to meeting attendees than COVID-19. The same guidance for influenza or any of the respiratory viruses also applies to COVID-19. It is important to:
1. Avoid being exposed to respiratory viruses;
2. Avoid close contact (within 1 meter/3 feet) with people who are ill with fever, cough or respiratory symptoms;
3. Wash or sanitize hands frequently – this is one of the most effective measures available;
4. Note that according to WHO, there is no evidence that individuals who are well and free from respiratory symptoms will benefit from wearing a mask;
5. Avoid spreading respiratory viruses if you are unwell. Stay at home or in your accommodation if you become unwell, develop a fever or other respiratory symptoms.
In case you feel unwell during the meeting, please report to the organizers.
Thanks,
Mehjabeen
