Dear

I do hope you all are in a  good health.

As you might remember, at the last steering committee meeting of the TA component of the Skills4Jobs program we made an announcement that we were in need of changing indicator “2.2 Number of job intermediations provided by employment offices nationwide” due to the situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. As we hope that the situation is going to be stabilized quite soon, Ministry made a decision to not change the indicator. Accordingly we do commit to fulfill the indicator 2.2 by the end of the year.

But we consider changing the  indicator for 2021 (proposed changes in the indicator passport attached ) as 69 offices of SSA are not relevant anymore and New Service Model will be implemented in all offices of SESA.

In case of questions and clarifications please contact us.

Regards,

Lika

Subject: URGENT - Request for a special Project Steering Committee meeting of the TA component of the Skills4Jobs program

Dear Deputy Ministers, colleagues

During the period of the Covid-19 pandemic the TA team has been endeavoring to implement as many of the activities as we could under lockdown conditions. The EU Delegation has proposed that there should be a Special Meeting of the Project Steering Committee before the end of this month to receive information on our progress during the lockdown period, discuss issues relevant to project implementation, and consider any necessary changes to project planning and activity scheduling necessitated by the Covid-19 pandemic. In my previous email of 19the May, I suggested that a Steering Committee meeting could be held on either 28th or 29th May. At the online meeting we will deliver PowerPoint presentations on the activities carried out since the First Steering Committee Meeting in February, and on the proposed revisions to implementation planning and scheduling of activities that have been drawn up following recent consultations with beneficiaries.

I should now be grateful for confirmation as to whether it will be convenient for the meeting to take place on Friday, 29th May 2020, either in the morning or afternoon. I should be grateful if you would kindly respond by return indicating your possible availability for a meeting on that day. The meeting should last no more than 1.5 hours.

Please note that there is no six-monthly progress report due for be formal presentation at this special  meeting of the Steering Committee. Although the de facto starting date of the project was 3rd October 2019 and the TA team had assumed that a first six-monthly progress report would be due for presentation to the Steering Committee in April, we were advised that, because the contract date was 27th August 2019, the first six-monthly period is considered to have ended on 29th February, just two weeks after the first steering committee meeting. Accordingly, we are considered to be only half way through the second six-monthly period (1st March to 31st August) and the six-monthly progress report will therefore be due for formal presentation to the Steering Committee in September.

Once again, I  thank you for your understanding, and hope that sufficient members of the Steering Committee may be available to enable the special meeting of the committee to take place on 29th May.

With thanks, and best regards

David Handley
