Dear Deputy Minister Barkalaia,
On behalf of UN Women and ILO, I am honoured to invite you to provide opening remarks and to attend a half-day sensitization workshop on the Social Protection Floor as per the Social Protection Floors Recommendation (No. 202) of ILO, 2012.
The workshop will be held on the 24th of January from 9:30 – 14:30.
UN Women and ILO are embarking on an assessment of the national social protection system in Georgia with a view to understand the current system vis-à-vis the international standards as set out in the ILO Convention No. 202. The assessment
will be conducted over a period of several months in 2020. As a part of the assessment, a rapid costing will also be conducted to provide insight into budgetary implications in various scenarios.
This initial workshop is intended to build an understanding of the components to be included in the Social Protection Floors – Presenting Social Protection Floors and International Social Security Standards. Workshop will take place on
Friday, January 24th at Radisson Blue Iveria, Ballroom 6. Registration for the workshop will start at 09:30. A draft agenda for the workshop is attached.
Kindly confirm participation with me by Wednesday 22nd January, 2020.
Thanks,
Mehjabeen
