Subject: PECS declaration-Addressing child poverty

Dear PECS members, observers and participants,
In the light of the current French Presidency of the Council of Europe, social rights and social cohesion are high on the agenda. The PECS is invited to raise an issue for the attention of CoE Member States in a form of a declaration to be submitted to the CoE Committee of Ministers (CM).
Following some discussions, the topic of child poverty has been chosen. The attached draft declaration has been prepared and consulted with the PECS Working Groups.
At this stage we would like to share the draft document with all PECS members, observers and participants for consultation. We would highly appreciate to receive your comments to the draft document by 15 August 2019. Upon receiving your comments, we will revise the draft once again and prepare it for the submission to the CoE Committee of Ministers for the adoption in autumn.
The French version of the draft declaration will be sent to you shortly.

Chers membres de la PECS, observateurs et participants,
À la lumière de l'actuelle présidence française du Conseil de l'Europe, les droits sociaux et la cohésion sociale figurent en bonne place à l'ordre du jour. La PECS est invité à soulever un problème à l'attention des États membres du Conseil de l'Europe sous la forme d'une déclaration à soumettre au Comité des Ministres du Conseil de l'Europe (CM).
À la suite de discussions, le sujet de la pauvreté des enfants a été choisi. Le projet de déclaration ci-joint révisée a été préparé en consultation avec les groupes de travail de la PECS.
À ce stade, nous souhaiterions partager le projet de document avec tous les membres, observateurs et participants de la PECS à des fins de consultation. Nous aimerions vivement recevoir vos commentaires sur le projet de document d’ici au le 15 août 2019.
Après réception de vos commentaires, nous réviserons à nouveau le projet et nous le préparerons pour le soumettre au Comité des Ministres du CdE pour adoption en automne.
La version française du projet de déclaration vous sera envoyée sous peu.
