Permanent Representation of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the OSCE
Deadline: 11 March 2019
The Netherlands promotes respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms of every citizen in the OSCE area and beyond. Through the Human Rights Fund of the Permanent Representation of the Kingdom of Netherlands to the OSCE, the Netherlands aims to:
* promote freedom of expression and other fundamental freedoms as a cornerstone of democratic societies;
* contribute to an effective protection of the rights of minorities;
* strengthen the fight against intolerance and discrimination;
* support human rights defenders;
* enhance the rule of law;
* support and improve the role of civil society in the OSCE area.
Thematic lots - In order to be taken into consideration for a grant in the Call for Proposals 2019, projects should be aimed at least one of the following priorities:
§ protecting and supporting of human rights defenders; § achieving equal rights for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people (LGBTs); § achieving equal rights for women, in particular women's political participation; § preventing violence against women;
§ promoting freedom of expression and internet freedom; § promoting freedom of religion and belief.
Criteria for application - Organisations interested in receiving funding should take note of the following criteria and technical specifications, as well as focus on the above-mentioned themes:
§ the deadline for submitting proposals is 11 March 2019; § project proposals should be written in English or Dutch; § maximum project duration is 3 years; § the amount of the budget requested should be between EUR 25.000 and EUR 100.000 on average (exceptions
are possible); § information on the total budget of the project, co-funding (if applicable), and the organisation's own contribution should be provided; § information on clear, measurable, visible, and sustainable results, that have a practical/operational
impact on the ground, is required; § projects should be realised by an OSCE institution, an OSCE field mission, or a NGO directly involved in the OSCE mandate/work; § projects should be implemented within the OSCE region exclusively.
After completion of the project, proper narrative and financial reports should be submitted within 3 months. Any major difference between the actual costs mentioned in the financial report and amounts mentioned in the initial budget might lead to rejection
of the financial report, unless the difference has been duly explained and approved at an earlier stage.
