Employment, Social Policy, Equal Rights and Public Health
1. Recall expectations that Georgia will effectively implement its commitments on international labour standards and on alignment with EU labour and health and safety laws. Welcome the adoption of the extended Occupational Safety Law, amendments improving the legal framework on gender equality and anti-discrimination, and the recently adopted law on sexual harassment.
2. Recall that further work is needed to establish a fully-fledged and well-funded labour inspection system and to ensure supervision of all working conditions and labour rights. Efforts are also needed to improve equal pay between men and women and protection against discrimination in practice.
3. Welcome the development of the overarching health strategy.
4. Welcome the entry into force of the legislation on tobacco control and express support to the approximation and implementation of tobacco control legislation. Urge Georgia to proceed towards the signature and ratification of the FCTC Illicit Trade Protocol
პატივისცემით,
მაიკო
