As you know, the Gori Military Hospital is actively involved in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, which has demonstrated high mobilization in the fight against the pandemic and provided high-quality and high-quality medical services to the population. This result is largely based on the support of the American side, including the professional training of medical personnel/management, which is highly appreciated by us.

We also note that, by decision of the Government of Georgia, work is underway to develop the Georgian Medical Holding. At this stage, the holding includes 5 state clinics: Tbilisi Republican Hospital, Universal Medical Center (Oncology), Children's Infectious Diseases Hospital, Ruhi Hospital, Batumi Infectious Diseases Hospital.

Taking into account Georgia's active participation in NATO peacekeeping missions and the fruitful cooperation between the United States and Georgia in the field of healthcare, Ms. Ekaterina Tikaradze requested that, in the interests of the American side, cooperation be initiated between the parties in the management of the medical institution and medical personnel.

Rehabilitation / equipping of medical institutions on the basis of the holding will be carried out within the framework of a loan provided by the World Bank, in accordance with modern medical requirements.

The implementation of this initiative is extremely important for both the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Defense, as the Georgian population, including the military, will have better geographical access to highly qualified medical services, and the country will be able to respond more effectively to pandemic situations.
