Combating the spread of antimicrobial resistance in Georgia A) The goal is to: promote and implement measures to prevent antimicrobial resistance, in particular to strengthen surveillance of nosocomial infections, develop institutionalized methods of infection prevention and control, methodological recommendations and policies; B) Ways to implement the project: • Introduce nosocomial infection surveillance. • Improve infection prevention and control policies and guidelines at the national and local levels. • Control of the results and quality of laboratory tests conducted by zonal and regional laboratories, preparation of relevant reports and recommendations. • Develop an evidence-based strategy for effective antibiotic use using data collected by NCDC FELTP. C) the expected result: Hospital-acquired infections will be monitored with established grounds; methodological recommendations for the prevention and control of infections will be updated; Laboratory capabilities and quality in relation to antimicrobial resistance will be improved; Communication materials will be created based on evidence.
