Dear Sofia Hutchinson,
Upon your request, on behalf of the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia, I would like to kindly inform you that according to the Law of Georgia on “Psychotropic Substances, Precursors and Narcological Assistance”, medications - “Alprazolam XR” and “Lorazepam” belongs to the list (III) of psychoactive substances. The procedure for import of these medicines (stock for 31 days) for individual needs into the territory of Georgia is approved by the Order N01-32 / N of the Minister of Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia.
In order to bring narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances purchased in other country for individual needs into the territory of Georgia, an individual shall submit declaration to the Customs Service of Georgia, together with the following documentation:
(A) A copy of the prescription, translated into English, certified by a competent authority in accordance with the legislation of the country from which the natural person departs. The prescription should indicate the name, surname, gender, age, diagnosis, trade and generic name of the drug and / or psychotropic substance, dosage form of the drug, tablet (s), ampoule, etc. Number, order of administration, and duration of the prescribed treatment course (if the prescription form in the given country does not require the completion of the above data, then the data shall be included in the document referred to in subparagraph (c) of this paragraph);
B) Certificate of prescribing physician, translated into English, certified by the appropriate authority in accordance with the legislation of the country from which the natural person departs;
(C) a document confirming the authenticity of the prescription and the certificate, signed and stamped by an authorized person, issued by a duly authorized body of the country of departure of the natural person. The document shall indicate the name, legal address, contact person, telephone number and country of destination of this body.
The above mentioned information has been prepared based on the letter submitted by the LEPL Regulation Agency for Medical and Pharmaceutical Activities.
