Dear colleagues,
On behalf of Maria Neira and the Organizing Committee of the Conference I thank you very much for this information. We are eager to know that Minister Sergeenko will take part in the Conference during the High Level Action Day. As previously discussed, the last day of the Conference will open the floor to voluntary commitments from Member States. We would be very happy to know whether Georgia is considering to share a commitment and if we could assist in any way.
I take the occasion to enclose the overview agenda and preliminary program of the Conference for your consideration.
The website is now updated with other relevant documents, including a brochure outlining the WHO Scientific Advisors for the Conference. The final program will be soon available.

Please also note that an Information Session with WHO Mission Focal Points is scheduled on 3 September, 10:30 – 12:00 am (WHO HQ). This will be a good occasion to update Permanent Missions on the progresses made in the organization of the conference and reply to enquires Member States will raise.
Finally, this is also to confirm that financial support will be provided to allow the Minister’s participation in the High Level Action Day of the Conference.
Should you require further information I will be happy to assist you.

Subject: RE: First WHO Global Conference on Air Pollution and Health, WHO headquarters, Geneva, 30 October - 1 November 2018
Dear colleagues,
Please, be informed that Dr David Sergeenko, minister, will represent Georgia at the First WHO Global Conference on Air Pollution and Health, WHO headquarters, Geneva, 30 October - 1 November 2018.
He will only be able to attend the last day of the conference, 1 November 2018.
Please, be also informed that he will need financial support to cover the costs of the travel (flight ticket, per diem). He is entered in the GSM system already.
The ministry will send a formal letter with the confirmation as stated above. In the meantime you may contact Ms Sofiko Belkania (sbelkania@moh.gov.ge), National Counterpart fr Strategic Collaboration with WHO.
Tuesday is a national holiday in Georgia, so responsiveness in the first half of the next week may be a bit low.
