I have already been in contact with Maia from the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia but to be on the same page with everybody, I have decided to keep everything from now on in one e-mail thread.

 

The Government of Estonia has decided to respond to the requests of the Government of Georgia, related to the response of the coronavirus outbreak and has decided to send the consignment of humanitarian aid as described below:

 

1. Hand disinfectant (500ml bottles), amount 3000 units to the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia

2.  Hand disinfectant (1L bottles), amount 600L and surface disinfectant (5L canister), amount 400L to the United Water Supply Company of Georgia (Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development of Georgia).

 

      Hopefully our aid will be delivered within next week and it will be on the same flight to Tbilisi. I already talked to Maia about local transport and they confirmed that they are able to organize local transport from the airport to their warehouse. What about United Water Supply Company of Georgia? Our logistics company would also like to know whom should they contact when the aid arrives to Tbilisi?

Eelistus oleks, et kogu abipaketi kohale toimetamise osas suhtlete otse peaministri alluvuses oleva Donor Coordination Unit-ga (dcu@gov.ge ja selle juht: trogava@gov.ge) ning hoiate mind ja Ninot (Nino.Karanadze@mfa.ee) cc rea peal. DCU peale jääb lootus, et saadetis ei takerdu tolli vm bürokraatiasse.

 

Ideaalis võiks olla nii, et DCU vastutab saadetise vastuvõtmise, logistika jm eest. Kui tervishoiuministeeriumiga on juba kokkulepe olemas, siis sellest tuleks teavitada kindlasti DCU-d, palun seda teil endil teha (mul ei ole lihtsalt vajalikke detaile). Võib-olla annab nii organiseerida, et terv.ministeerium võtab ülejäänud pakid ka peale?

 

Ettepanek: kui lennuajad on selged, siis teavitage DCU-d, hoidke rea peal terv.ministeeriumi, Water Supply, mind ja Ninot. Selles kirjas võiks tõstatada water supply saadetise logistika. Sealt edasi võtame kontakti üle ning koordineerime Tbilisi tasandil.

Kinnitan, et saame neile saata soovitud kogused (600l kätedeso ja 400l pindade deso), need on laos olemas ja logistikafirma võtab täna peale. Loodetavasti on järgmisel nädalal lend- probleem on selles, et tegemist on ohtliku kaubaga ning paberite kordasaamine võtab aega. Lisaks on lennuliiklus hetkel maailmas väga hõre ja nädalas läheb transpordifirma sõnul ainult kaks lendu. Loodame väga, et jõuame siiski järgmise nädala jooksul saadetise teele panna. To follow-up our recent communication with regard to the request by the  , I am glad to confirm our readiness to supply the following items:

 

  1. Hand Sanitizers- 600 Liters
  2. Surface disinfectants - 400 liters 

 

What concerns further procedures, my capital will need an official request submitted by the DCU or the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development. However, since we are operating in a very tight time schedule ( → all humanitarian aid provided by the Estonian Government to the Georgian Government will be shipped by air freight on Friday, 15th of May) and we need to complete certain internal procedures, I kindly ask to submit an official request ASAP (an e-mail with the attached hardcopy is OK).

Greetings again!

 

As I mentioned in our conversation today, the United Water Supply Company of Georgia (LEPL of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development) is in high need of Personal Protective Equipment. 

 

All the projects of this authority continue active work and the staff of the service centers intensively visit the facilities along with the increasing demand and applications. Thus, it is of critical importance for them to be fully equipped with face masks, gloves, disinfectants, and other necessary equipment. The estimated daily number of employees is 2,200 persons. 

 

Here is the list of equipment, cost of which equals around 115,000 GEL. However, as I already mentioned, it will be highly appreciated If you could support even with the half.

 

  1. Face masks - 75,000 pieces
  2. Hand Sanitizers- 600 Liters
  3. Surface disinfectants - 400 liters 
  4. Gloves - 20,000 pairs 
  5. Face shields - 1000 pieces
  6. Disinfection services - 6 times (2880 GEL)
  7. Deso protect carpets - 60 pieces 
  8. Remote thermometers - 20 pieces

 

As for the confirmation from the Ministry of Health on your initiative on the electronic application, as I was communicated on, they will write the detailed answer later today.
