Dear Ms Tea Avazashvili, Ms Anna Maisuradze, Ms Nino Murjikneli, Mr Kakhaber Shalikadze, Mr Gocha Aladashvili, Ms Gvantsa Sivsivadze, Ms Teona Pailodze, Ms Teona Melitauri, Mr David Kalatozishvili,
Ms Marekh Pkhoveli,
Efficient,
well-prepared civil servants with vast professional expertise are at the heart of effective reforms and well-functioning administrations. Since its inception, the Eastern Partnership
has enabled the strengthening of friendship and cooperation on a wide range of areas including people-to-people contacts and support to transfer of knowledge and expertise among public experts.
In this spirit, the European Commission in co-operation with EU Member States is mobilising the
Technical Assistance Information and Exchange Instrument (TAIEX), which has a long and successful history of facilitating peer-to-peer exchanges between EU Member States and Partner Countries’ public administrations, to support good public governance
and reforms through job shadowing. Building on this experience, we are glad to put the
TAIEX Job shadowing pilot scheme for the Eastern Partnership into motion with the clear objective of providing professional development to civil servants and create a community of practitioners.
I am confident that this is an opportunity from which all participants will greatly benefit in public administration career. As you have been selected to take part in this pilot
scheme I am happy to invite you to a kick-off event on 11 March 2020 in Brussels which will mark the start of this TAIEX Job shadowing scheme pilot for the Eastern Partnership countries. The key discussions and exchanges will take place on 11 March,
when the participants will have the opportunity and are expected to take an active part in discussions and share views and expectations. We also propose to start with informal discussions when all participants will arrive in Brussels in the evening of 10 March.
A more detailed agenda will follow shortly.
We will support and organise travel and accommodation, as well as per diems. We kindly ask you to confirm your participation by filling in the attached “registration tool” and “accommodation
travel list” and send it to your respective National Contact Point by Friday 21 February at the latest, who will then submit the consolidated versions to the Institution Building Unit. For more practical details on your participation, you can always
contact directly your respective National Contact Point Office. Mr Alexei Iarochevitch in DG NEAR/C.3 Institution Building Unit also stands ready to guide you (alexei.iarochevitch@ec.europa.eu).
We look forward to meeting you in Brussels and launching the Job shadowing pilot scheme!
Kind regards,
