We are pleased to share with you a heads-up regarding the postponement of the next sessions of COP9 and MOP2.
In light of the ongoing worldwide pandemic of COVID-19 and its impact on the conduct of global conferences, holding the sessions of
COP9 and MOP2 in November 2020 is no longer possible. In this regard, the Members of the Bureaus elected by the Eighth Session of the Conference of the Parties (COP8) to the WHO FCTC and the First Session of the Meeting of the Parties (MOP1) to the Protocol,
in consultation with the Netherlands (host country) and the Convention Secretariat, unanimously decided during their Joint Third Bureau meeting on 21 April 2020, to postpone the holding of the sessions of COP9 and MOP2 to November 2021, COP9
from 8 to 13 November 2021 and MOP2 from 15 to 17 November 2021
An official communication will be sent out early next week to all Parties to the WHO FCTC and its Protocol.

Nous avons le plaisir de partager avec vous la décision du Bureau conjoint concernant les séances de la COP9 et la MOP2.
Compte tenu de la pandémie mondiale du Covid-19 et son impact sur l’organisation de conférences à grande échelle et à travers les continents, la
tenue des sessions de COP9 et MOP2 en novembre 2020 n’est plus possible.
A cet égard, les Membres du Bureau élus par la Huitième session de la Conférence des Parties (COP8) à la Convention-cadre de l’OMS
pour la lutte antitabac et la Première session de la Réunion des Parties (MOP1) au Protocol, après consultation avec le pays hôte (les Pays-Bas) et le Secrétariat de la Convention, ont décidé à l’unanimité, durant la session jointe du Troisième Bureau de la
COP8 et de MOP1, le 21 courant, de reporter la tenue des sessions de la COP9 et MOP2 à novembre 2021, COP9 du 8 au 13 novembre 2021 et MOP2 du 15 au 17 novembre
2021.
Une communication officielle à cet effet sera envoyée en début de semaine prochaine à toutes les Parties à la Convention-cadre et au Protocol.
