Please find attached the agenda for the COVID-19 information session scheduled for tomorrow. In regards to the Country presentations (one from each of the six WHO regions), we would like to extend our appreciation to the Ministers of the following Countries:

-              African Region (South Africa)

-              Region of the Americas (Chile)

-              Eastern Mediterranean Region (Iran) 

-              European Region (Sweden)

-              South East Asian Region (India)

-              Western Pacific Region (Fiji)

 

Kindly be informed that the Zoom link will be activated 40 minutes before start of the meeting. Given the Security breaches of the Zoom technology in recent days and the steps taken to secure the information session meetings, we have put in place since two weeks the “waiting room” and “meeting password” process. We would appreciate it if your capitals could connect to the link as early as possible to enable us admit each participant to the session on time. When logging in, please remember to adhere to the naming convention(COUNTRY/ORGANIZATION-NAME)

 

We also request that you confirm if your Minister or Secretary of Health will attend the session in order that the Director-General can acknowledge their presence.

With reference to the weekly Information sessions on COVID-19, you are invited to attend the next virtual session scheduled to take place on Thursday, 23 April 2020 from 12:30 to 14:30 Geneva time (Please see below details for the Zoom connection).

 

The Director-General conveys his appreciation to the Ministers of Health for their unwavering commitment to the collective global efforts at addressing the pandemic and welcomes their continued participation in the information sessions. In this regard, we would be grateful if you could transmit an open invitation to the Health Minister or Secretary of Health of your Country to participate in the next virtual session. As indicated by the Director-General, there will be a country presentation from each of the six regions.

 

To help improve on the sound quality and for your message to be conveyed to participants listening in another language, we would be grateful if you could consider the following:

 

o             Use an ethernet (land wire) connection, not Wi-Fi

o             Use a soundproof and echo-free room

o             Use high quality PC or Laptop, not a mobile phone

o             Use individual headsets with high quality microphone

o             Adjust your speech to the remote distance(speak slower, clearer and avoid excessive use of acronyms) 

 

The question and answer component of the session will focus on the Country presentations. However, the Secretariat will be available to answer technical questions of relevance to the organizations response, as time permits.
