For attention of the European National Counterparts and Permanent Missions in Geneva

Dear Sir or Madam,

I have the honor to invite you to attend the meetings of the Member States of the WHO European Region in preparation for the 29th session of PBAC and the 144th session of the Executive Board (EB) in Geneva, Switzerland, in January 2019. The meetings will focus on agenda items that are of particular interest to the European Region.

An information meeting will be held at WHO headquarters in Geneva on Sunday, 20 January from 14:00 to 17:00 hrs  the day before the opening of the 29th session of the Programme, Budget and Administration Committee of the Executive Board (PBAC) .  The meeting will be open to delegates from all Member States of the European Region and to representatives of regional economic integration organizations and Permanent Missions.  This meeting will be webcast, and the technical details will be sent in due course.

Starting from Friday, 25 January, the WHO Regional Office plans to hold daily meetings with the Member States, from 08:30 to 08:50, in order to provide an informal forum for information-sharing and discussion.

The venues for the aforementioned meetings will be communicated shortly.
