Dear WHO Mission Focal points,

For your information, the 25th meeting of the International Health Regulations (IHR) Emergency Committee for Polio will be convened on Tuesday, 23 June 2020. The meeting is only open to Members of the Emergency Committee and other experts informing the Committee.

The objectives of this meeting include :

1. to review the international spread of poliovirus since the 24th Emergency Committee meeting, the steps taken by affected countries to implement the Temporary Recommendations, and steps by partner agencies in support of affected countries; and

2. to provide views to the Director-General on the current risk of international spread of polio and recommendations to mitigate the risk.

A WHO statement giving an account of the consultation and its conclusions, will be posted on the WHO public website.
