Dear Ekaterine,

The sound was very bad. Interpreters could barely hear.

Between 6:00 and 8:00 pm interpretation from German will be again available.

Please check with Jude for speaking time.

Best regards,

Toufic

Dear Toufic,

As far as an interpretation from German was not provided Georgia’s intervention at the session was suspended. Could you tell us when Georgia’s intervention will be possible?

We look forward to your suggestion on time slot for Georgia’s statement with the interpretation.

Regards,

Ekaterine

Dear Ekaterine,

First slot is perfect. I confirm interpretation from German into official languages will be available from 12:00 to 15:00 on May 18.

It makes no difference whether the statement is delivered live or in a pre-recorded video.

Regards,

Toufic

Dear Toufic,
Thank you for the email.
The proposal is acceptable, but as Georgia is already inscribed in the speakers’ list at from 12:00 to 15:00 (on 18 May) could we change the session? is it technically possible?
and the second question, if the Minister delivers a statement online (without a video statement) is it still possible to deliver German version?

We will send a written statements in advance, both German and English versions.

Regards,

Ekaterine

Dear Ekaterine,

Depending on which 3-hour slot your video statement will be scheduled, we might be able to provide interpretation from German into the 6 official languages. Ideally, Monday 18 May, 21:00-24:00.

I wish also to take this opportunity to kindly draw your attention to the fact that at a normal reading speed a 2-minute speech should not exceed 220 words (less than one page).

At a higher speed, the message will not be conveyed accurately in other languages.

Looking forward to receiving a copy of the written statement at interpret@who.int

The statement can be sent in German but if an English version is already available, it would also be appreciated.
