My name is Francisco Rodriguez Lozano, I am the president of ENSP and I am a dentist. My general secretary, Cornel Radu, told me you are also a dentist.

I would like to inform you that during our last annual conference in Bucharest, ENSP has created a new group named “Dentists for Tobacco and Health”

The purpose of this group is to study the effects of tobacco products on oral health, promote healthier behaviours and to be able to set the evidence data about tobacco and tobacco related products harm on oral health. We need the participation of dental scientific societies and Faculties of Dentistry from different European Countries, but also dentists working on public health.

As a second objective, the group want to increase the participation of dentists as profession in the European policies related to Tobacco Control. We think that being tobacco so clearly related  to oral pathology and our daily work, dentists should take part, as are doing physicians, nurses or psychologists in taking  decisions on strategies and policies against tobacco at European level. We need the participation of Dental associations and dentists from different European countries.
