Testing passengers in order to allow travelling/flying under “immunity passports” is not supported by the current scientific knowledge that exists on the immunological response to SARS-CoV-2 (quality, quantity and duration of human antibodies) or the available testing methods (laboratory based and point-of-care). Nevertheless, EASA and ECDC are monitoring the scientific developments and will update their recommendation as appropriate if a suitable test becomes available.

Subject: EU guidelines on COVID safe travel
Dear Genadi,
Thanks for the good discussion this afternoon!
I enclose as discussed:
- The EU aviation & health protocol as issued yesterday by both EU agencies (EASA and ECDC) – This will affect flights between the EU and Georgia, to my understanding (and potentially between other ECAA parties and Georgia)
- A more general Commission communication on health protocols in tourism services, see detailed protocol in annex 1.
This might be useful to you and your colleagues in the government for determining the measures in a way to make use of your strong experience and of likely customer expectations from EU tourists.
Best regards
Vincent
