COVID-19 Response Mechanism Application Materials
As
communicated last week, the Global Fund is making available immediate funding of US$500 million to help countries fight COVID-19, mitigate the impacts on lifesaving HIV, TB and malaria programs,
and prevent fragile health systems from being overwhelmed.
The Global Fund has now published application materials for countries to access the response mechanism:
-
Funding Request Instructions
-
Funding Request Form
Eligible applicants include those countries that directly receive Global Fund financing. All funding requests must be coordinated and submitted by the Country Coordinating
Mechanism. Current regional/multicountry recipients are also eligible for response mechanism support.
We encourage CCMs to take an inclusive approach to developing all funding requests, particularly regarding the inclusion of civil society.
More information is on our
COVID-19 Response Mechanism page.

LFAs collecting information for Global Fund real-time monitoring approach
The Global Fund is developing a real-time monitoring approach to identify secondary impacts of COVID-19 response in the delivery of Global Fund-supported programs. This will support the Global Fund with its “business contingency planning” and provide an early
warning system so the Global Fund can assess what actions to take when activities are going off-track. Local Fund Agents, who will undertake this monitoring, may be in contact with Principal Recipients (PRs), Country Coordinating Mechanisms (CCMs) or other
country partners over the coming weeks to understand potential or current disruptions. This information will be collected through a survey. The first survey will be completed by LFAs on May 5, with subsequent updates on the 1st and 15th of each month. Collecting
this information will allow the Global Fund to consider remedial actions to put in place. If you have any questions regarding the survey or Global Fund response to COVID-19, please reach out to your country team. For more information visit the
Global Fund website.

Guidance Note on Information Systems and Data Sharing
Organizations are increasingly being exposed to cybersecurity risks including phishing, a fraudulent practice used to collect important information from users or provide them with incorrect information to obtain unlawful advantages. The Global Fund has issued
a Guidance Note on Information Systems and Data Sharing providing Principal Recipients with information to support them in the revision of internal procedures and guidelines. Further Global Fund requirements are included in the note. To see the guidance visit
the
Global Fund website.
